Our community and our country is in the midst of a crisis, and we cannot face these challenges alone. Each of us has a responsibility to do what we can to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Beaverton is a caring community, and if we collectively take steps like wearing a mask and practicing social distancing, we can help keep all of us safe.
Right now, we are having important conversations to center our diversity at the heart of our work and ensure we are a city where everyone feels safe. I believe unity and collaboration are the key to progress. Building an inclusive community together and supporting people of color in our city has been a priority of mine since day one, and it is work that is never done.
Through a thoughtful and inclusive local process, I have immense hope and confidence that we can create real change for our wonderfully diverse community.
