Allison Y., a 14-year-old teenager attending St. Stephen’s Academy in Lake Oswego, will be going into high school this coming fall. What makes her a super student is her amazing feat of completing both college entry level reading and math before even starting 9th grade. Way to go Allison!

In her free time, she plays games, reads, runs, listens to music, and thinks. She is currently interested in computer programming. In 2018 and 2019, she and her team won the First Lego League Project Award and in 2020, they went to the state tournament.

She attributes her success to the Kumon math and reading program explaining: “Kumon can be overwhelming and difficult at times. It takes time, patience, and perseverance to adjust to it. Despite that, know that it will be beneficial in the long run. Great accomplishments don’t come naturally. You have to work hard for it.. Hard work is equal to greater success in Kumon and in life. Don’t give up and persevere through! The journey with Kumon is special, don’t take it for granted and enjoy it.”

What is Kumon? Kumon is the world’s largest after-school math and reading program. The Kumon Method has helped millions of children achieve more than they ever thought they could.
